1. Person killed and Fatal Crash Involving 18-Wheeler, Trash Truck, Dump Truck in Arlington: Fire Department
A fatal crash between a dump truck, tractor-trailer and trash truck has closed the southbound lanes of North Collins Street in North Arlington Tuesday morning, fire department officials say. One person died in a crash involving a trash truck and two dump trucks. A third vehicle may have been involved. The Arlington Police Department said the crash occurred on the corner of North Collins and Moiser Valley Road in Arlington at about 11:10 a.m. Police said a Duncan Disposal trash truck was traveling southbound on Collins, making a turn to go westbound onto Moiser Valley Road. The Duncan Disposal truck struck an 18 wheeler and a dump truck while turning, causing the trash truck to flip over and land on its side, according to police.
2. Garbage truck overturns in accident in Crest Hill
CREST HILL – Traffic was snarled Wednesday morning in Crest Hill when a garbage truck overturned.
The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. near Larkin Avenue and Route 30. "It appears the vehicle that was in front of the garbage truck quickly changed lanes and when the [truck] driver tried to avoid it, the truck became unsteady and overturned," Police Chief Dwayne Wilkerson said. The garbage truck also clipped the back corner of the Toyota FJ Cruiser that came into the lane, Wilkerson said.
3. Young Boy Killed after being hit by trash truck in Newport Beach

The lieutenant did not know if the truck was a municipal or private vehicle, but video from the scene showed the large vehicle stopped there was labeled CR&R Environmental Services, which is the name of a Stanton-based waste and recycling company.
4. Troopers identify four killed in crash with garbage truck, Family of four, including two teenagers, killed in devastating crash with garbage truck after the car's driver failed to yield at stop sign
A family of four people were killed Wednesday afternoon when their car drove into the path of a garbage truck at a Vinton County intersection, the State Highway Patrol said. The four were in a Toyota Corolla that was traveling west on Rt. 56 in northern Vinton County near the Hocking County line. The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m., when the car's driver failed to yield, pulled away from a stop sign at the intersection of Rt. 93 and drove into the path of the truck, which was going south on Rt. 93, the patrol said. The State Highway Patrol's Jackson post said the car was travelling westbound on Route 56 when it drove into the path of the truck near McArthur, around 55 miles from Columbus. The Rumpke Waste and Recycling truck driver, who was later identified as George S Stout, 27, was not injured. The dead were identified its day as Lisa R. Foerster, 55, of Athens, the driver; Lorraine E. Alsterberg, 57, of Oregon; Emma C. Hamel, 19, of Athens; and Thomas J. Hamel, 18, of Athens.
5. Garbage truck crashes into two homes in Edmond
EDMOND, Okla. – A garbage truck is being blamed for damaging two homes on Monday morning.
Shortly before noon, emergency crews were called to the 18300 block of Allora Rd. after receiving reports of a trash truck hitting two homes. It appears that at least two brick mailboxes were destroyed as the truck hopped the curb before careening into two homes. No word on what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, or if anyone was injured in the crash.
6. Footage Shows Garbage Truck Fall Off I-95 Ramp
Video footage showing a garbage truck flying off an Interstate 95 ramp in Miami and falling nearly 100 feet to the ground was released by the Florida Highway Patrol Monday.
The dashcam video shows driver Kaseem Smith behind the wheel of the truck before it crashes through a guardrail and tumbles to the ground below back on Feb. 15. FHP officials said Smith appeared to be looking to his right when he hit an inside wall twice. He then over corrects and drives off the ramp, officials said. "He basically focused on something else, so he is driving carelessly. He collides twice with the wall and that's when he overreacts," FHP spokesman Joe Sanchez said.
7. Train hits City of Salem trash truck; truck driver suffers life-threatening injuries
Investigators have determined that the City of Salem trash truck that was hit by a train Tuesday was headed south when it was hit. The truck had just left a business near the crossing. The truck was hit on the passenger side by a Norfolk Southern train that was headed east. Curtis Farris is the City of Salem employee who suffered life-threatening injuries was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
8. Man dies in crash with garbage truck on Highway 290
A man died in a crash Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 290 East at Harris Branch Parkway. The man, identified as Abraham Aguilar-Diaz, 25, ran a red light while driving southbound on Harris Branch Parkway, according to Austin police. He was hit by a city of Austin garbage truck in the eastbound 290 service road at around 3:17 p.m. Aguilar-Diaz was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with CPR in progress, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
9. Bicyclist dies after being struck by trash truck in Glen Burnie
Police said any charges are pending review by the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office. Witnesses told police that a Bates Trucking trash truck was northbound in the southbound lane on Central Avenue making a right turn onto Alley 206. Upon making the turn, the trash truck struck the bicyclist, identified as Irene Diane Szczesniak. Anne Arundel County police said the crash occurred in the area of Central Avenue near Oak Lane. A 60-year-old Crofton woman died after being struck by a trash truck while riding her bike Monday morning in Glen Burnie.
10. 2 hurt in crash between car, garbage truck
MIDDLETON -- Two drivers were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon when a car crossed over the centerline and collided with an oncoming garbage truck. The crash happened at 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Purple Sage and Emmett road, northwest of Middleton. Idaho State Police say 86-year-old Betty Walker of Caldwell was headed south on Emmett Road when her car crossed over into the northbound lanes. The driver of a northbound garbage truck, 40-year-old Jeremy Dionne on Ontario, tried to avoid hitting the car by swerving into the southbound lanes, but struck Walker's car on the passenger side.
